Application
LM11A-31 dihydrochloride has been used to study the effect of p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75 NTR) blockade, by non-peptide LM11A-31 ligand, on PC12 cell viability.
Biochem/physiol Actions
LM11A-31 is a non-peptide ligand of the p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR). LM11A-31 blocks pro-NGF induced cell death in neuronal cultures, and protects neuronal cells from the the cytotoxic effects of cisplatin or methotrexate. Oral administration of LM11A-31 promotes the survival of oligodendrocytes and myelinated axons in a mouse spinal cord injury model and improves function in both weight-bearing and non-weight bearing tests.
LM11A-31 is a p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR) ligand.

The present work aimed to explore the innovative hypothesis that different transcript/protein variants of a pro-neurotrophin may generate different biological outcomes in a cellular system. Nerve growth factor (NGF) is important in the development and progression of neurodegenerative and cancer

Despite its undisputable role in the homeostatic regulation of the nervous system, the nerve growth factor (NGF) also governs the relevant cellular processes in other tissues and organs. In this study, we aimed at assessing the expression and the putative
