Succinobucol is a metabolically stable derivative of the antioxidant drug probucol that poses a distinct pharmacological from. Succinobucol is an orally active vascular protectant that exhibits antiatherosclerotic properties in multiple animal models and in humans. It inhibits the release of proinflammatory cytokines, TNF-a, IL-1b, and IL-6 in hPBMC activated by LPS.
