Biochem/physiol Actions

A superior substrate than biotinyl tyramide (biotin-phenol; BP) for APEX2-mediated proximity-labeling of RNA.
Biotin-aniline (Btn-An) is a superior substrate than biotinyl tyramide (biotin-phenol; BP) for APEX2-mediated proximity labeling of RNA (∼25-fold higher by dot blot with 0.5 mM substrate and 0.4-10 μg RNA/dot). Btn-An specifically labels mitochondrial, but not cytoplasmic, mRNAs in live HEK293T stable line expressesing APEX2 in the mitochondrial matrix (mito-APEX2).
