Biochem/physiol Actions

BH3 domain-targeting inhibitor against Bcl-2 family anti-apoptotic proteins with anti-cancer efficacy in vitro and in vivo.
Obatoclax (GX15–070) is a BH3 domain-targeting inhibitor against Bcl-2 family anti-apoptotic proteins, including A1/Bfl-1, Bcl-2, Bcl-B, Bcl-w, Bcl-XL, and MCL-1. Obatoclax induces cancer cell apoptosis in cultures (0.05-2 μM) and in vivo (1.25-10 mg/kg via im. ip. or iv. in mice) by overcoming Bcl-2 members-mediated resistance to BAX- or BAK-dependent apoptosis.
