Biochem/physiol Actions

AMP site-targeting, potent and selective fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase (FBPase) inhibitor that suppresses cellular gluconeogenesis (GNG).
MB05032 is an AMP site-targeting, potent and selective fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase (FBPase) inhibitor (rec hum liver FBPase IC50 = 16 nM, purified hum muscle/rat liver FBPase IC50 = 29/61 nM) with no potency toward glycogen phosphorylase or AMP-activated protein kinase. MB05032 inhibits cellular (rat/human hepotocytes IC50/glucose gluconeogenesis (GNG) substrate = 7.8 ?M/lactate & pyruvate/rat hepotocytes, 47.5 μM/lactate/human hepotocytes).
