Biochem/physiol Actions

Solithromycin is an orally available, broad spectrum, and potent anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory macrolide/fluoroketolide that is effective against respiratory tract pathogens associated with CABP, including macrolide-resistant strains, compared with other available macrolides. Solithromycin significantly inhibits production of TNFα, CXCL8 and MMP9. Also Solithromycin inhibits NF-κB activity under conditions of oxidative stress. Solithromycin exhibits superior anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory activities and is a potential therapy for refractory COPD.
