Broadly neuroprotective agent that enhances the memory in normal and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) transgenic mice
J147 is a broadly neuroprotective (in multiple assays) compound that enhances the memory in normal and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) transgenic mice. J147 has neurotrophic and BDNF-like activities that are independent of the BDNF receptor, and TrkB. Also it appears that J147 has a small but significant effect on Ab metabolism by reducing Ab1–42 in the soluble fraction of the hippocampus.
