Biochem/physiol Actions

Orraly active inhibitor of CCR2 and CCR5 receptors; Antiretroviral entry inhibitor.

Cenicriviroc is an orally available inhibitor of C-C chemokine CCR2 (IC50 = 5.9 nM) and CCR5 (IC50 = 0.29 nM) receptors, an antiretroviral entry inhibitor with anti-inflammatory activity. CCR5 chemokine receptor antagonists are believed to inhibit HIV entry by blocking interaction of viral coat protein gp120 with the receptor. CCR2 is involved with inflammatory-related disease states.
