Biochem/physiol Actions
Inhibitor of mitochondrial ROS production; medication used in the treatment of dry mouth.
Anethole Trithione (OP2113) is an old medication used in the treatment of dry mouth that increases salivary secretion and blocks carcinogenesis. It blocks mitochondrial ROS production. Anethole Trithione is a specific inhibitor of ROS production at the IQ site of complex I of the mitochondrial respiratory chain. It reduces pulmonary arterial pressure, remodeling, and hyperreactivity in CH-PH rats.
