Biochem/physiol Actions

Rhod 2AM-2 AM is a cell permeable acetoxymethyl ester of red fluorescent dye Rhod-2, which is used as reagent for monitoring calcium. Upon cell entry the ester accumulates in mitochondria and is hydrolyzed by cellular esterases to Rhod-2. Rhod 2AM-2 AM excitation maximum is 557 nm and emission maximum is 581 nm.
