General description

Ester precursor of the STING(A230/I230)-selective agonist BDW568-OH with no activity toward STING(G230).
BDW568 is an ester precursor of the STING(A230/I230)-selective agonist BDW568-OH with no activity toward STING(G230). Upon entering cells, BDW568 is hydrolyzed by carboxylesterase 1 (CES1) to the active metabolite BDW568-OH, which in turn induces cellular type-I interferon (IFN-I) signaling (EC50 = 7.6 μM by ISRE reporter assay using THP-1 cells, 4.1 μM using STING-/- THP-1 expressing STING with H71, A230, Q293).
