Useful for kinase assay and Western blot.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Recombinant human STK21 (CIT) (1-449) was expressed by Baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag. STK21 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase that functions in cell division and also to promote efficient cytokinesis. STK21 is a novel molecular mechanism for a subset of human malformation syndromes of the central nervous system (1). STK21 is also associated with bipolar disorder and risk for schizophrenia. STK21 is a novel partner for the GTP-bound forms of rho and rac (2).

Preparation Note

Formulated in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 150mM NaCl, 10mM glutathione, 0.1mM EDTA, 0.25 mM DTT, 0.1 mM PMSF, with 25% glycerol.
Store in aliquots at -70°C. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
