Plasma levels of β-thromboglobulin directly correlate to the level of platelet activity and can be measured to determine platelet activity.

Biochem/physiol Actions

β-thromboglobulin was shown to inhibit megakaryocyte colony formation C.
Heparin binding protein that is used as a platelet activation marker.

Supplied as a solution in 25 mM Hepes and 150 mM NaCl, pH 7.4
