Application

Amiprofos-methyl is an organophosphate herbicide used on maize. It is not listed in the European Union pesticide database. The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Herbicide that prevents microtubule polymerization in plant cells, but not animal cells. Crop plants resistant to amiprofos-methyl and several other herbicides have been developed by insertion of a xenobiotic-detoxifying human gene CYP2B6.
