Application

Butachlor is a herbicide used for pre-emergence control of annual grasses and some broad-leaved weeds particularly in rice crops. It has a low aqueous solubility and a low volatility. As per the regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 butachlor is not approved for use in the European Union as a plant protection product. A default maximum residue level (MRL) of 0.01 mg/kg has been set according to Art 18(1)(b) Reg 396/2005. The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
