GenElute™-E DNA and RNA Purification Kits

Traditional silica-based spin prep kits require multiple, tedious wash and spin steps with lots of hands-on tube manipulation and little downtime. GenElute-E Single Spin DNA and RNA Purification Kits use a negative chromatography method based on size exclusion for the purification of genomic DNA (gDNA) from mammalian cells, blood, tissue, and plant tissue samples as well as for DNA and RNA cleanup procedures.

GenElute™-E DNA and RNA Purification Single Spin Technology

In this size exclusion chromatography method, molecules in the sample are separated by size. Smaller molecules such as proteins, lipids, and ionic components become trapped in the pores of the stationary phase of the column. Larger molecules such as DNA and RNA flow through the column quickly because they are too large to enter the pores. By exploiting this difference in size, GenElute-E purification kits enable DNA and RNA purification in a single spin without the need for multiple binding and wash steps.

GenElute™-E Viral RNA/DNA Kits for SARS-CoV-2 Viral RNA Extraction and Purification

Rapid and reliable viral RNA extraction and purification technology is essential for disease research, especially for timely results involving SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). GenElute™-E Viral RNA/DNA kits provide a streamlined workflow to isolate RNA and DNA from nasopharyngeal swabs, genital swabs, and stool samples. Compatible with dry swabs and a variety of transport media, samples can be processed with a single spin, and purified RNA and DNA can be analyzed in downstream applications like PCR, qPCR, and sequencing. Additionally, GenElute™-E Viral RNA/DNA Kits were evaluated using SARS-CoV-2 RNA swab samples (Figure 1) and stool samples (Figure 2) in qPCR applications.

Scatter plot analysis reveals a significant (p < 0.0001) differentiation between reference sample 1 (1x107 copies/mL) and sample 2 (1x106 copies mL) in a combination of the GenElute™-E Viral RNA/DNA Kit with either the (A) RIDA® GENE SARS-CoV-2 (R-Biopharm) or the (B) SARS-CoV-2 PCR Kit (Anchor Diagnostics) for E gene. A dilution factor of 7.3 and 7.8 was shown for R-Biopharm (A) and Anchor Diagnostics (B) assays, respectively, which is within the calculated range across 234 labs that participated in the interlaboratory test. A 95% Confidence Interval (CI) is shown for each of the reference samples.

SARS-CoV-2 stool sample analysis using GenElute™-E Viral RNA/DNA Kits.

Table 1. Clinical validation for human norovirus extraction was investigated on a total of 83 patient samples. The GenElute™-E Viral RNA/DNA Kit was used in combination with the RIDA®GENE Viral Stool Panel I (R-Biopharm), which is a multiplex real-time RT-PCR for the direct, qualitative detection and differentiation of Norovirus, Rotavirus, Adenovirus, and Astrovirus in human stool samples.
