How to Prep DNA and RNA using GenElute™-E Single Spin Purification Kits

GenElute™-E Single Spin DNA and RNA Purification Kits enable rapid purification of genomic DNA (gDNA) from mammalian cells, blood, tissue, and plant tissue samples. GenElute™-E purification kits are also available for DNA and RNA cleanup procedures. The negative chromatography method based on size exclusion provides fast purification of nucleic acids in a single spin.

GenElute™-E Single Spin Technology Protocol Demonstration

GenElute™-E Single Spin Protocol Steps

1. Sample Lysis

Samples are lysed by adding SmartLyse™ Protease Mix followed by Clearing solution, then centrifuged to clear the lysate.

2. Column Preparation

Spin columns are vortexed, placed in a clean 2 mL tube, and centrifuged at low speed for column preparation.

3. Nucleic Acid Purification

The clarified lysate is added to the spin column and centrifuged at low speed for one minute to collect purified nucleic acid. No wash steps are required as impurities remain on the column. The collected DNA or RNA can be used immediately, or kept at 2-8 °C or –20 °C for long-term storage.

GenElute™-E Single Spin DNA and RNA Kits are optimized to provide high yield, high concentration, and high purity DNA and RNA for downstream applications such as PCR, qPCR, multiplex PCR, RT-PCR, and next generation sequencing (NGS).
