2,5-二甲基苯胺是一种无色至暗黄色、无色至棕色的液体。它是真菌漆酶的底物。2,5-二甲基苯胺可在无水NH4F·2.35 HF介质中进行电化学氧化，形成导电聚合物，聚（2,5-二甲基苯胺）。铜基材上的聚（2,5-二甲基苯胺）涂层可保护铜免受腐蚀。2,5-二甲基苯胺的傅里叶变换红外光谱（FTIR）和拉曼光谱已有研究。它可诱导lccIV的转录。
应用
2,5-二甲基苯胺可用于合成嵌入聚（2,5-二甲基苯胺）中的多壁碳纳米管的纳米复合材料。 2,5-二甲基苯胺可用于研究真菌通过2,5-二甲苯胺形成的代谢产物对漆酶活性的影响。
