Application

Bismuth antimonide (BiSb) can be used in the formation of a thin film based thermopile for the fabrication of heat power sensors for biochemical applications. It can also be used as an active element in the designing of a photo-thermoelectric sensor.
Skutterudites are a promising class of thermoelectric materials which can be doped with other elements like rare earth elements to decrease thermal conductivity without reducing the electrical conductivity, hence increasing the thermopower.
