N-Chloro-N-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)-benzamide

As reported by the laboratory of Erik Alexanian, this N-chloroamide enables site-selective, aliphatic C-H chlorination at the gram scale through visible-light photolysis and avoids unselective background reactivity. Product is best stored in foil-wrapped vials in the freezer when not in use; however, it can be weighed out on the bench without risk of decomposition.
