General description

Our battery grade sodium difluorophosphate (NaDPF) is a high-purity, anhydrous compound, synthesized carefully to reduce trace acid, chloride, and sulfate impurities. The crystalline NaDPF is soluble (up to ~1 wt.%) in carbonate blends used in battery electrolytes, like ethylene carbonate and dimethyl carbonate.
Sodium Difluorophosphate is an effective electrolyte additive for sodium-ion batteries that supports green energy storage. It provides electrochemical stability and forms a strong solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), improving battery safety and lifespan. Its easy synthesis and compatibility with battery materials make it key for sustainable and durable sodium-based energy storage. Click here for more information.

Application

Sodium difluorophosphate is used in sodium-ion battery research in liquid electrolyte formulations as an additive. It is intended to optimize the performance and stability of sodium-ion batteries. When used as an additive in the liquid electrolyte, it has been shown to improve the efficiency of sodium metal deposition and dissolution, reduce overpotential, and enhance the stability of the solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer on the negative electrode, leading to high coulombic efficiency, excellent rate capability, and long cycle life.
