General description
Hyaluronic acid (HA) functionalized with furan groups is a chemically modified biopolymer designed for advanced biomedical applications. The furan moieties enable Diels–Alder click chemistry, allowing mild, catalyst-free crosslinking under physiological conditions. This modification preserves HA’s inherent biocompatibility and hydrophilicity while introducing reactive sites for creating injectable hydrogels, self-healing materials, and bioactive scaffolds. The resulting systems exhibit tunable mechanical strength, degradation profiles, and compatibility with therapeutic agents. We offer Hyaluronic acid furan (Mw ~30 kDa, ≥25% functionalized) With a molecular weight of approximately 30 kDa and a high degree of substitution (≥25%). it is ideal in research activities for creating injectable hydrogels, tissue engineering scaffolds, and drug delivery systems that require tunable mechanical and biological properties.
Application
Hyaluronic Acid Functionalized Furan is a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer designed for advanced biomedical applications. With a molecular weight of approximately 30 kDa and a functionalization degree of at least 25%, this product offers enhanced reactivity and versatility for various uses in tissue engineering and drug delivery systems. Hyaluronic Acid Furan enables bioorthogonal Diels–Alder click chemistry, forming injectable hydrogels under mild conditions. These hydrogels mimic extracellular matrix properties, supporting cell adhesion and proliferation for cartilage repair and soft tissue regeneration. Furan-functionalized HA hydrogels provide sustained release of therapeutic proteins and small molecules, making them ideal for ophthalmic and localized drug delivery applications. Combining HA-Furan with collagen or PEG-maleimide creates bioactive scaffolds with tunable mechanical properties, suitable for research studies in wound healing and tissue regeneration.
