General description

1,1-二甲基双胍盐酸盐(盐酸二甲双胍)是一种强碱。它与过渡金属配合良好，形成颜色鲜艳的双配位基螯合物。盐酸二甲双胍(MET)以多种形式存在:强酸溶液中双质子化(H2MET)2+ ，弱酸溶液中单质子化(HMET)+ ，中性溶液中MET，强碱溶液中去质子化(MET)- 。这是一种口服降糖药。盐酸二甲双胍的药代动力学已得到研究。已采用HPLC-UV法测定人血浆中盐酸二甲双胍的含量。据报道，盐酸二甲双胍被认为能够增加人体血浆中的活性胰高血糖素样肽-1（GLP-1）。

盐酸二甲双胍被用作椰子油与甲醇的脂肪酸甲酯化反应中的有机碱催化剂。
