3-羟基-5-甲基异噁唑，也称为恶霉灵，是同时含有羟基和氮原子的亲水性有机分子，因此可作为水凝胶化试剂(co-hydrogelator)与其它组分形成自递送超分子水凝胶。
Application
3-羟基-5-甲基异噁唑可作为反应剂合成：
- 在叔丁醇钾的存在下，与二甲氨基甲酰氯反应生成3-氧异噁唑-2(3H)-甲酰胺。
- 与乙烯基环氧乙烷经开环反应生成羟甲基-2-丙烯-1-基-5-甲基-3(2H)-异噁唑。
