1-乙烯基-2-吡咯烷酮是一种无色至黄色的液体，具有特征性的气味。它的熔点约为13.5oC而沸点约为90-92oC。VP与水以及大多数有机溶剂完全混溶，但在脂肪烃中是部分混溶的。在高压和高温下通过使2-吡咯烷酮与乙炔发生反应的VP工业生产已得到了报道。乙烯基化过程是在液相中进行的，并由3-吡咯烷酮-氢氧化钾催化。

Application

1-乙烯基-2-吡咯烷酮（VP）用于研究聚（氯乙烯）型分子的大分子光引发剂特性。此外，还用于研究聚乙烯吡咯烷酮包覆的银纳米粒子的遗传毒性。
