Biochem/physiol Actions
TopFluor™-labeled lipids have spectral properties similar to tetramethylrhodamine (TMR).
Application
TopFluor™ TMR PI has been used in fluorescence quenching of 1-palmitoyl-2-{12-[(7-nitro-2−1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl)amino]dodecanoyl}-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylcholine (NBD PC) in ternary mixtures of 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylcholine (POPC)/ 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidylethanolamine(POPE)/ soy l-α-phosphatidylinositol (PI) vesicles.
General description
Phosphatidylinositol (PI) is commonly found in animal tissues and bacteria. PI is soluble in water and chloroform/methanol. TopFluor™ TMR PI is a tetramethylrhodamine (TMR)-labeled fluorescent phospholipid.

Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PI(4,5)P2 or PIP2), is a key component of the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane in eukaryotic cells. In model membranes, PIP2 has been reported to form clusters, but whether these locally different conditions could give rise to

Phosphatidylinositol (PI) lipids are necessary for many cellular signaling pathways of membrane associated proteins, such as angiomotin (Amot). The Amot family regulates cellular polarity, growth, and migration. Given the low concentration of PI lipids in these membranes, it is likely
