General description
1,2-dipalmitoyl-d62-sn-glycero-3-phosphate (sodium salt) (16:0 PA-d62) is a deuterated phosphatidic acid wherein 62 protons of dipalmitoyl are replaced by deuterium isotope. Phosphatidic acid (PA) is a membrane phospholipid and constitutes about 1-2 % of the total phospholipid in cells.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Phosphatidic acid (PA) is associated with the synthesis of structural phospho- and glycolipids within the plastids and endoplasmic reticulum (ER).
