General description
PhoDAG is a light-sensitive, photo-switchable diacylglycerol (DAG). It is inactive in the dark and gets activated by ultraviolet-A (UV-A) light. PhoDAG can be deactivated by blue light.

PhoDAG plays an important role in studying the pathophysiological role of diacylglycerol (DAG)-sensitive transient receptor potential (TRP) channels, which are involved in maintaining the homeostasis of the body.
