General description
C16肉毒碱,也称为棕榈酰L-肉碱,是一种内源性酰基肉碱。在结构上含有左旋肉碱(L-carnitine)头基和16碳饱和脂肪酸尾。棕榈酰L-肉碱是通过棕榈酰-CoA酯与肉碱的可逆反应衍生的。棕榈酰L-肉碱通过肉毒碱棕榈酰转移酶II转运穿过内膜进行β-氧化。

Biochem/physiol Actions
C16肉碱具有抑制甘氨酸转运蛋白2(GlyT2)的潜力。它是β-氧化的关键能量供体。棕榈酰肉碱激活骨骼肌肌浆网的Ca2+释放通道。由于棕榈酰转移酶II缺乏引起的棕榈酰L-肉碱水平升高会导致能量代谢的常染色体隐性遗传疾病,主要影响骨骼肌。
