General description
A challenge associated with LNP′s is effectively delivering to the target cells. However, specific functional groups can be used to target these desirable cells. Click chemistry presents a promising solution for the straightforward attachment of functional groups to other molecules, enabling the synthesis of larger and more complex molecular structures. Clickable PEG lipids allow for the easy linkage of specific cell-targeting functional groups to the PEG lipid, enhancing delivery to the intended cells. Additionally, by adjusting the PEG length, one can modify micelle size, immunological safety, and drug release rates.
