General description

Interleukin-22 (IL-22) is a cytokine produced mainly by Th17 cells, as well as by other immune cells such as innate lymphoid cells. It plays a vital role in tissue homeostasis and repair by promoting the survival and proliferation of epithelial cells, particularly in barrier tissues such as the skin and gut. IL-22 is also involved in the immune response to infections and has been implicated in various inflammatory conditions, highlighting its dual role in both protective immunity and pathology.

*Indicative LLOQ created from average of 14 independent in house runs, where >80% met same value defined with CV & Recovery +/- 20%. Refer to CoA for lot specific performance.

Other Notes

Although IL-22 was detectable in non-human primate, mouse, feline and canine samples, the assay has not been verified for these species.
