General description

Interleukin-18 (IL-18) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a significant role in the immune response by promoting the activation and proliferation of T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. It is produced by macrophages and dendritic cells and is involved in the regulation of various immune functions, including the production of other cytokines such as interferon-gamma (IFN-γ). IL-18 contributes to the body′s defense against infections and is implicated in the pathogenesis of several inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

*Indicative LLOQ created from average of 14 independent in house runs, where >80% met same value defined with CV & Recovery +/- 20%. Refer to CoA for lot specific performance.

Other Notes

Although IL-18 was detectable in mouse, rat, and feline samples, the assay has not been verified for these species.
