General description
Interferon lambda 1 (IFN-λ1), also known as IL-29, is a type of cytokine belonging to the Type III interferon family, which also includes IL-28A and IL-28B. These cytokines are recognized for their role in the immune response against viral infections and are structurally similar to members of the IL-10 family. IL-29 is primarily produced by dendritic cells and is involved in the modulation of antiviral activity, acting similarly to type I interferons, though it interacts with a distinct receptor complex. This cytokine is crucial for its antiviral properties, immune regulation, and potential therapeutic implications in managing viral infections and certain autoimmune disorders. The specific signaling through its receptor can activate various pathways leading to the induction of antiviral state and regulation of immune responses.
Application
Inflammation & Immunology/Inflammatory Disease/Immune Response/Autoimmune Disease
Features and Benefits
- Reveal the Invisible: Detect cytokines previously undetectable with standard ELISAs; perfect for early-stage biomarker discovery.
- Track Subtle Immune Shifts: Ideal for longitudinal studies, viral infection models, and autoimmune research.
- Trusted Quality: Backed by robust support and verified reagents.
- Wide Dynamic Range: Quantifies IL-29 across 130–200,000 fg/mL, capturing both subtle and robust immune responses.
