Term decidual tissue consists of terminally differentiated decidual cells, bone marrow-derived cells, and fibroblast cells. Since undifferentiated decidual cells are fibroblast-like cells of the endometrial stroma, the possibility exists that the fibroblast cells in term decidua are undifferentiated decidual cells.
