Recognizes WDR5, MW 36 kDa. A related protein band of 43 kDa that was blocked by the immunizing peptide was also detected. Identification of WDR5 protein at 36 kDa was confirmed with siRNA knockdown by an independent laboratory.

General description
WD repeat-containing protein 5 (also known as BMP2-induced 3-kb gene protein, WD repeat-containing protein 5, WD-repeat protein 5, Set1c WD40 repeat protein homolog, cilia and flagella associated protein 89) is a nuclear protein encoded by the WDR5 (also known as BIG3, CFAP89, SWD3) gene in human. This protein contains 7 WD (Trp-Asp) repeats and belongs to the WD repeat protein family whose members are involved in a variety of cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, signal transduction, apoptosis, and gene regulation. WD repeat-containing protein 5 is a component of several complexes that regulate histone methylation and acetylation levels, including ATAC (ADA2A-containing complex) complex, SET1 complex, MLL1/MLL, MLL2/3 (also named ASCOM complex), MLL4/WBP7, and NSL (non-specific lethal) complex.

Immunogen
Epitope: Near N-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the N-terminus of human WDR5.
Other Notes
Concentration: Please refer to lot specific datasheet.
Physical form
Affinity purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal IgG in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide with 30% glycerol.
Preparation Note
Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.

The DNA damage sensor XPC is involved in nucleotide excision repair. Here we show that in the absence of damage, XPC co-localizes with RNA polymerase II (Pol II) and active post-translational histone modifications marks on a subset of class II

The WDR5 subunit of the MLL complex enforces active chromatin and can bind RNA; the relationship between these two activities is unclear. Here we identify a RNA binding pocket on WDR5, and discover a WDR5 mutant (F266A) that selectively abrogates
