General description
天然人C3补体成分。由两个不同的二硫键结合的亚基组成的糖蛋白，分子量分别为115,000（α）和75,000（β）。存在于正常人血清中，浓度为1.25 mg/mL。补体的经典和替代激活途径在C3步骤收敛。通过任一途径的激活均可导致靶表面上C3裂解酶（C3转化酶）的组装。两种C3转化酶均在肽键77处裂解C3α-链，导致产生C3a（M.W.9083）和C3b片段（M.W.180,000）。释放的C3a肽是三种补体过敏毒素之一。新生的C3b片段可与靶表面形成共价酯键。补体激活的持续需要C3b与靶受体的这种共价连接。
