General description
通过与50S核糖体亚基结合来抑制RNA到蛋白质的翻译，从而阻止肽基转移酶反应的合成抑菌抗生素。氯霉素抗性由抗性基因cat编码，其产物氯霉素乙酰转移酶可通过乙酰化使抗生素失活。通常以30-50 µg/ml用于筛选带有氯霉素抗性的大肠杆菌。
