General description
Potent cell-permeable anticancer agent whose potential target site may be mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase. Has been shown to inhibit RNA and DNA synthesis and to intercalate into DNA. Inhibits eukaryotic topoisomerase I and II. Induces DNA single strand breaks. Induces apoptosis in HeLaS3 tumor cells.
