Heparin Cofactor II, Human Plasma

Native heparin cofactor II from human plasma. Inhibits thrombin by forming a bimolecular complex in the presence of heparin. Serine proteinase plasma glycoprotein.

In 50% aqueous glycerol.

Following initial thaw, aliquot and freeze (-20°C).

Prepared from plasma that has been shown by certified tests to be negative for HBsAg and for antibodies to HIV and HCV.

One unit is defined as the amount of heparin cofactor II that will inhibit 1 NIH unit of thrombin.
