General description

Butyl alcohol, also known as 1-butanol. It is used as a solvent to dissolve a wide range of polar and non-polar substances. Additionally, butyl alcohol serves as an important intermediate in the synthesis of various chemicals.

Application

Butyl alcohol is used as a solvent
  • In the preparation of internal standard for analysis of fat-soluble vitamins using micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC).
  • in the ternary system (Water–n-Butyl Alcohol–NaCl) for liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) behavior studies.
