HumanKine^® HGF, Human Recombinant Xeno-Free

Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF), also known as Scatter Factor (SF) and Hepatopoietin A, is a pleiotrophic growth factor which is produced by mesodermally derived cells such as endothelial cells, Kupffer cells/macrophages, and hepatic fat-storing cells. HGF/SF is a potent effector of growth, movement, differentiation and invasiveness of epithelial and cancer cells. It can induce epithelial-mesenchymal conversion of epithelial cells in culture, support epithelial branching duct formation in the developing lung and elicit a potent organotrophic function for regeneration of liver, kidney and lung through epithelial-stromal interactions.

HumanKine growth factors are expressed in a proprietary human 293 protein expression system and are manufactured without the use of any animal products and are considered Xeno-Free.

Bioactivity assay: Determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of the monkey epithelial cell line 4MBr-5. ED50 is typically 10-50 ng/ml.
