General description
气管支气管的粘蛋白5B亚型（UniProt：E9Q5I3；又称MUC5B）在鼠科动物中由Muc5b基因（基因ID：74180）编码。粘蛋白是高分子量糖蛋白，由粘蛋白核心蛋白和O-连接的碳水化合物组成。粘蛋白存在于许多腺体上皮细胞的表面，并由其分泌。它们在上皮细胞的管腔膜与其环境之间提供了屏障。粘蛋白由非球形蛋白骨架（粘蛋白前体）和许多O-连接的聚糖组成。据报道，气道中主要存在两种聚合粘蛋白。它们是：粘蛋白5ac，在健康条件下产生的水平较低，但在过敏性炎症或寄生虫感染期间增加；粘蛋白5B，在健康条件下大量产生，在过敏性炎症条件下适度增加。粘蛋白5B在胃癌中异常表达。（参考文献：Ren, B et al. 计算分子量为515.44 kDa。糖基化蛋白的实际分子量可能高出10倍。
