General description
Acute phase proteins (APPs) constitute an integral part of the innate immune response, exhibiting significant alterations in their serum/plasma concentrations in response to inflammation, infection, or trauma. This group of proteins includes haptoglobin (Hp) and C-reactive protein (CRP), which play pivotal roles in immune response, and are frequently studied as biomarkers of systemic inflammation and disease.
Application
MILLIPLEX® Qualified assays undergo rigorous assay development, verification, and Quality Control testing to achieve optimal performance. Simultaneously analyze up to 2 analytes in porcine serum and plasma.
Analytes included: CRP, Haptoglobin
Assay Characteristics: Refer to kit protocol for assay cross-reactivity, sensitivity, precision, and accuracy.

Features and Benefits
Dual Analyte Detection: Simultaneously quantifies C-Reactive Protein (CRP) and Haptoglobin (Hp)—two key biomarkers of systemic inflammation in pigs.
Minimal Sample Volume: Requires only 25 µL per well of a 1:5000 dilution, conserving valuable sample material.
Precision and Reliability: Intra-assay CV ≤10%, inter-assay CV ≤15%, with recovery rates of 101% for Hp and 102% for CRP, ensuring consistent and reproducible results.
Monitor Inflammation with Confidence: Detect and quantify acute phase proteins that respond to infection, trauma, or stress, providing critical insights into immune activation.
Support Disease and Welfare Studies: Useful for evaluating respiratory diseases, parasitic infections, post-operative recovery, and general health monitoring in swine.
