General description
Casein Peptone Lecithin Polysorbate Broth is a specialized microbiologicalculture medium designed for environmental monitoring and microbial testing. Caseinenzymatic hydrolysate provides the necessary nutrients for the growth ofmicroorganisms. Soya lecithin neutralizes the quaternary ammonium compounds (asbenzalkonium chloride, denatonium, TBAH etc., often contained in surfacedisinfectants). Polysorbate (Tween® 20) is added to disarm phenolicdisinfectants, hexachlorophene and formalin. This medium is particularlysuitable for applications requiring the neutralization of disinfectants and therecovery of stressed or injured microorganisms.

Preparation Note
Suspend 25 g in 960 ml distilled water. Heat in a water-bath at 50°C for approx. 30 minutes until completely dissolved. Add 40 ml polysorbate (TWEEN® 20) and sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.
