General description
Deoxynivalenol belongs to the class of type B trichothecene mycotoxins typically produced by the species of Fusarium genus. It is cytotoxic and is known to hinder the macromolecular synthesis.
Application
Deoxynivalenol may be used as a reference standard for the determination of the analyte in:
- Cereals by high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS), ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) and HPLC-MS/MS.
- Biological fluidsby HPLC coupled to diode array detector (DAD)and LC-MS/MS.
- Eggs by HPLC with ultraviolet (UV) detection.
