1-（三甲基硅基）咪唑可用于合成六氢三氮杂 [3] 芳烃的 O-甲硅烷基化衍生物。它也可用于 Ti-MCM-41 催化剂的甲硅烷基化，研究其对烯烃环氧化的影响（使用 H2O2 水溶液），发现 1-（三甲基硅基）咪唑可改善 Ti-MCM-41 的疏水性和催化性能。
