General description
Perfluoropentanoic acid is a persistent organic pollutant belonging to the perfluorinated (PFCs) class of compounds. These compounds are used in a variety of industrial applications, such as textile paints, polishes, adhesives, electronics, waxes, stain repellents, and food packaging.
Application
Perfluoropentanoic acid may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in fish using liquid chromatography–quadrupole-linear ion trap mass spectrometry (LC–QqLIT–MS) and in natural water samples using high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FLD).
