一般描述
琼脂是由β- D-吡喃半乳糖基和3,6-脱水-α-L-吡喃半乳糖基单元组成的多糖。根据不同的来源,琼脂以甲基和硫酸醚等各种取代形式存在。它是从类红藻藻类的细胞壁中分离出来的线性半乳聚糖。
应用
琼脂已用于:
- 用作固体N6完全培养基组分
- 改良Murashige和Skoog (MS)培养基,用于培养发芽的扁豆和蚕豆种子转基因花椰菜和西兰花外植体再生
- 用作琼脂混合物组分,以模拟颈动脉中的血管体模
生化/生理作用
琼脂以左旋构象存在,六角形纤维聚集导致形成凝胶。二糖的疏水性决定了其胶凝特性和溶解性。琼脂是微生物固体培养基的主要成分。它在组织工程、制药和细胞封装中均有应用。
