Aspergillus brasiliensis NCPF 2275 LENTICULE® discs are Microorganisms Standards (Microbiological Reference Materials), which can be used as quantitative or qualitative control organisms. They contain colony-forming units (CFUs) in the range of 30-120 CFU per disc.
The technology allows long-term conservation and renders the organisms resistant to temperature changes. They are intended to be used as daily internal quality control organisms. These microorganisms are produced under reproducible conditions using authenticated strains from NCPF. These ready-to-use microbiological controls minimize the need for maintaining control strains in the test laboratory and guarantee the use of an authenticated control culture for every quality control test.
Lenticule® discs are prepared from a traceable culture obtained freeze-dried from the National Collection of Type Cultures (NCTC) or National Collection of Pathogenic Fungi (NCPF) and are manufactured by Sigma-Aldrich under license from UK Health Security Agency.

Application
Aspergillus brasiliensis NCPF 2275 LENTICULE® discs are used as reference strains in routine quality control for food, beverage, water, and environmental testing. Additionally, they are excellent for use in method development and validations, as starter cultures, and for use in research studies and educational purposes.
