一般描述

已有对从纺织印染废水处理厂（TDWTP）中除去苯乙烯的研究。Co-SBA-15在过氧化氢氧化苯乙烯过程中的催化潜力已有研究。通过气相色谱-质谱（GC-MS）和选择离子监测（SIM）对苯乙烯的不对称环氧化进行筛选已有报道。通过使用增溶的4,4′-二烷基取代的2,2′-联吡啶，可对苯乙烯进行均相原子转移自由基聚合(ATRP) ，从而生成成分确定的聚合物。使用催化钯/碳，氯苯和取代的氯苯与苯乙烯在水中的Heck反应，可得到1,2-二苯基乙烷。

应用

苯乙烯已用于制备成分确定的叔-丙烯酸丁酯、丙烯酸甲酯和苯乙烯的均聚物、二嵌段共聚物和三嵌段共聚物 。
苯乙烯已被用作测试苯乙烯样品，该研究涉及在聚（苯乙烯-嵌段-二甲基硅氧烷）（PSDMS）作为稳定剂存在下，可逆加成-断裂链转移（RAFT）控制子对苯乙烯在超临界二氧化碳中的RAFT聚合作用的影响。
